What is input and output devices?
Input Devices:
Device which transfer data, programs, or signals into a computer system are called input devices.
These devices are used to give raw data to the computer to perform specific tasks. Firstly, the data, programs, or signals are fed into the input device in a suitable form and are then converted by the device into electrical signals from human readable format that are transmitted to the central processing unit of the computer. Some input devices are as follows:
• Mouse• Scanner
• Web camera
• Track ball
• Light pen
• BCR (Bar code reader)
• Keyboard
• Joystick
• Digital camera
• Toch screen
• OCR ( Optical character reader) etc
Output Devices:
Device which displays the final results of input data is called output devices. Firstly, output is displayed on monitor. Then we can printout these output on a paper with the help of printer. The purpose of output device is to translate data and information from electrical impulses to human readable format. Some of the output devices are given below:
• Monitor (Screen)• Printer
• Plotter
• Speaker etc
