Today is becoming a historic day in the field of space science, will history be made on Mars?

Today, February 18, 2021, is becoming a historic day in the direction of astronomy, space science, extraterrestrial life exploration and unprecedented human activity on any planet other than Earth. In the next few hours, today is going to be recorded as a historic achievement.

Tonight, the US Mars mission's Perseverance Mars Rover will set a record by landing on Mars, nicknamed the Red Planet.  NASA claims that this will prove to be the most accurate landing in the field of space science so far. After traveling about 200 million km from Earth and reaching the orbit of Mars, the American Space Prove has an action plan to land on the surface of Mars today.

After all, what is NASA's claim, why is it saying that it is an unprecedented landing in history?

Why is NASA calling the launch of this mission unprecedented?  NASA has landed its rover on Mars five times before.  The United States is credited with landing its rover on Mars. Apart from the United States, no other country has achieved this success to date. China has moved forward in this regard. China's Mars mission Yan Tianwen-1 has reached Mars' orbit and is orbiting Mars.  China's plan to land on Mars has been extended to April-May.

Engineers and scientists at NASA's California-based Jet Propulsion Laboratory (jpl) are focused on making a safe landing of the Perseverance Mars Rover. The last 30 minutes of landing are 15 minutes - 10 minutes - 7 minutes - 3 minutes - 1 minute and the last moment of landing is very important for any interplanetary mission.  The success or failure of years of effort depends on these last 30 minutes.

NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover lands on Mars' Jezero Crater, NASA's most ambitious project to date. The task of landing on the Jezero Crater is considered to be the most difficult landing in the history of space science.

NASA scientists believe the river flowed into this Jezero crater on Mars billions of years ago. Due to climate change, the river dried up and turned into a desert.  Scientists hope to find some fossils of life in this area. That's why NASA dared to land the Perseverance Mars Rover on the Jezero Crater. This region of Mars is covered with deep valleys, barren mountains, cliffs, sand dunes and rocks.  How an American rover lands in such a remote place has become a topic of interest for everyone.

This time, NASA scientists have used new technology for rover landing. This technology can easily land in complex situations and dangerous unfamiliar places.
"Our team has made all the preparations for the safe landing of the Perseverance Mars Rover," said Jennifer Trosper, Deputy Project Manager of the Mission at JPL. Of course, landing on Mars cannot be guaranteed. Only 50 percent of the missions to Mars have been successful. The technology used by NASA this time is called Skycreen. The rover will finally land on Mars via parachute.
